Caleb Shi wins AAN Neuroscience Research Prize 2019

Congratulations to Caleb Shi (AAST 2019), who recently attended the annual meeting of the 2019 American Academy of Neurology and was awarded the Neuroscience Research Prize for his research detailing cellular mechanisms of traumatic brain injury.

This award is designed to encourage high school students to explore the world of the brain and nervous system through laboratory research, identify and reward those students whose scientific skill and talent indicate potential for scientific contributions in the field of neuroscience, and recognize the efforts of science teachers who have demonstrated support for students interested in neuroscience.

Jason Ping and Maiya Mayo win at ISEF 2019

Congratulations to our INTEL ISEF Finalists who represented BCA this past week in Phoenix, AZ; Maiya Mao, Jason Ping and Max Zhang.  These students were chosen at our BCA Research Expo held this past March to represent BCA in Arizona.  At ISEF over 1700 students from over 85 countries come together to present their STEM research.  Maiya Mao was awarded Third Place in her category and Jason Ping won First Place and “Best in Category”. These are tremendous accomplishments.

Earlier this week, Max Zhang found out his research was selected for the BioGENEius International competition which takes place in early June in Philadelphia along with Bio International 2019.  This is also a remarkable accomplishment.
