USAID Conference Article

On September 19, 2014, BCA Junior Alon Millet presented his research project, "How Plant-Eating Bacteria will Revolutionize Agriculture" at the 2014 US AID Fronteirs in Development Conference in Washington D.C. His presentation focused on the novel protein called cellulose binding domain, and its potential aplications in the fields of agriculture and biofuels, especially in developing countries.

The invitation to speak at the conference is a result of Alon's winning the Development Innovation Award from US AID at the 2013-14 Intel Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) this past May.

Pictured are (left to right) Mrs. Donna Leonardi, research teacher and Millet's mentor, Dr. Rajiv Shah, head of US AID, and Alon Millet
