Explorations (Maximum 14 seats per session)

Bergen County Academies is pleased to announce the return of our lab-based summer science programs, Nanotechnology Explorations and Modern Physics Explorations. Students can participate in each program; a separate fee is required. These programs are designed to introduce students to experimental physics and/or nanotechnology through hands-on activities.

Independent Research (Seating is limited and varies by program. See Program Information tab for more details.)

  • BCA students currently enrolled in Independent Research in Biology, with an established project, may work in the labs of Mrs. Donna Leonardi, Dr. Robert Pergolizzi, or Mrs. Alyssa Waldron.
  • BCA students currently enrolled in Independent Research in Nanotechnology, with an established project, may work in the lab of Dr. Deok-Yang Kim at the same time that Nanotechnology Explorations is also running.
  • The research schedule can be as short as two weeks or as long as four weeks. Each research student must be pre-approved by their mentor before applying. A specific schedule will be created by the student.
  • Programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and seats are only reserved once application and payment are submitted online.
  • For specific information about each of the programs offered, please visit the Program Information tab for more details.
